Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ!

It is indeed a privilege and honor to welcome you to the parish family of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Hopedale. As you begin your journey among and with us I ask you to open your eyes. Open your eyes to see the many gifts, skills and talents that are shared by so many in our community, central to our entire life of faith. Open your eyes to see the willingness to be community and take responsibility for the work we are sent forth to do each and every weekend as we gather to be strengthened and nourished by word and sacrament. Our worship together each week is central to our entire life of faith. Our worship together gives us the strength and energy we need to do the will of God in our homes, in our schools, at work, at play and throughout and beyond the community of Hopedale.

This brochure describes the wide variety of ministries we share here at Sacred Heart. I ask you not only to open your eyes to see the sharing of duties, but to also open your hands and join with us in ministry to one another. I pray that the duties you perform in the name of Christ will become not "duty" but "delight"- that you are not only a blessing to others, but are blessed in return.

As you open your eyes and hands in the ministry we share, may your heart be open to the new and wonderful healing God offers for all who feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick . . .
