The work of the Worship Team is to assess, plan and evaluate liturgical experiences so that as a community we may express our faith. By utilizing all our senses, encompassing the fullness of the liturgical calendar, and celebrating as a multi-generational community, we will give praise and honor to the God who lives and breathes in our gathering together.
The Worship Committee consists of the following Ministries and Events.

Ministries

Altar Servers: Members of the community that are trained to assist the celebrant and deacon at Eucharistic liturgies. They serve weekend liturgies, special celebrations, weddings and funerals. The minimum age for this ministry is 10.

Children's Liturgy of the Word: A team of teens and adults who work with children ages 3 through 10 during the 10:30AM liturgy, to read and interpret God's Word at their level.

Intercessory Prayer Team: These parishioners pray for our parish community so that we may be guided by the Holy Spirit to do God's will. They also pray for members of our community who are in need of prayer or have a special intention.

Liturgical Environment: This team is responsible for setting the liturgical environment to celebrate the feasts and seasons of the Church year. Skills needed include creativity, sewing ability, floral arranging, ability to lift and move heavy items, and/or a sense of liturgical function.

Martha & Mary Ministry: This group of men and women is responsible for the cleanliness of our sanctuary, sacristy, sacred vessels, candles and brass, linens, and vestments. They provide a beautiful and appropriate environment in which our parish community can worship.

Mass Coordinator: The primary responsibility of the Mass Coordinator is to ready the altar and ensure the readiness of all ministers at each Mass (Sunday, Sacramental and special liturgies, e.g. Holy Week and Christmas) in preparation for the Eucharist. The Mass coordinator also acts as the Master of Ceremonies.

Ministers of Holy Communion: The honor of distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to the members of our community is a great privilege. These ministers further share this gift by bringing the Eucharist to those in local nursing homes and Milford Hospital.

Adult Choir: The Adult Choir is the smaller group within a congregation whose abilities and interest in music make it possible for them to render a special musical service. The choir exists for the purpose of worshipping God and encouraging the Community through the use of their God-given gift of music. In addition, the Adult Choir draws the Community more deeply into worship by modeling sung prayer. Styles may include unison singing, all men, all women, or 2-4 part harmony with or without accompaniment.
Cantor: The ministry of the parish Cantor is to bring the song of the assembled Community to life, and to assist the Community so that collectively their song may be a prayer for the heart as well as the head. The ministerial role of the Cantor is to ENLIVEN with the breath of the Spirit - to help people bring life into sung prayer and to PROCLAIM - to bring life to the songs of scripture.

Children's Choir: Children, ages 3 and over, are "ministers of music" leading the congregation in sung prayer. Parents are welcome to attend music rehearsals and to participate with their children when the Children's Choir leads the congregation. It can truly become a "Family Affair!"

Contemporary Worship Music Ministry: The Contemporary Worship music ministry is a group of musicians and vocalists whose primary function is to provide the framework to lead the community into praise and worship through music and song so as to draw near to the inner courts of the living God. This is accomplished by using contemporary praise and worship music materials, instrumentation, and sound enhancement, by modeling sung prayer, and by using various music styles including acapella, acoustic, percussion and amplified.

Liturgical Dance: Participants in this ministry lead the assembly in prayer through dance, gesture and movement. These individuals will teach and rehearse with members of the assembly motions and movements that foster prayer.
Readers of the Word: These women and men share the gift of God's Word at weekend, daily and special liturgies. In recent years, several young people have dedicated themselves to this ministry. They, together with our "seasoned" Readers, bring the Presence of Christ to the congregation each time they proclaim His Word.
Videographers: People with experience using video cameras, or a willingness to learn, to tape the Saturday Mass. Parishioners of any age can volunteer so that the homebound can see the Mass and hear the word of Christ in their home on Sunday mornings.

Event

Seder Supper: In remembering our Jewish heritage, our parish has celebrated, since 1982, with a traditional Seder Meal prior to the start of Holy Week. A dedicated team plans and coordinates all aspects of the celebration, including the Parish Cleanup Day, which precedes the Seder Meal.
