Evangelization Team

The work of the Evangelization Team is to plan intentional ways of being hospitable and welcoming to one another so as to enable individuals to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, self and others in an effort to nourish our spiritual lives and to share faith with one another.

Ambassador Ministry: These ministers assist individuals and families who are registered non-participants at Sacred Heart Parish to know that they are welcome and needed. Each year 50 parishioners who feel alienated are identified, invited and involved in the life of the community.

Ministry of Hospitality: These parishioners plan events and/or provide refreshments for parish celebrations that give the entire parish an opportunity to connect as community.

On-Going EVENTS

Mom-To-Mom: Each Wednesday morning, mothers from the Hopedale area gather with their young children in our Parish Center . They find mutual support for themselves and a sharing and playtime for their youngsters. This is a non-sectarian group and all are welcome.

Senior Dinner: The parish hosts a traditional turkey dinner for 150 senior citizens of our Hopedale community. A team is responsible for planning and cooking the dinner. Parishioners are asked to volunteer as pie bakers and servers for this event.

Christmas Fair/Fall Festival: The entire parish family is encouraged to contribute their time and talent to the success of this annual fund-raising event which includes activities such as crafts fairs, bake sales, children’s activities, and raffles.

Chicken Barbecue: Each fall, the men of the parish prepare barbecued chicken dinners for parishioners who join together for an afternoon of fun and relaxation.

Walk the Walk: Each Good Friday morning, parishioners from area churches gather at Sacred Heart and walk a 4 mile prayer walk in the spirit of the beatitudes.

Good Friday Simple Meal: At noon , each Good Friday a simple meal of homemade bread, chowder and water is served.
